"批评隐喻分析"是批评话语分析的一种新方法,它综合运用语料库分析、语用学和认知语言学的研究方法分析隐喻的语言、语用和认知特征,揭示话语群体的信仰、态度和感情。它用语料库方法识别隐喻,从语用和认知角度阐释隐喻,通过对隐喻的话语功能进行分析确定其意识形态和修辞基础。批评隐喻分析是深入研究语言、思维和社会之间关系的一种崭新而有效的补充方法。用此方法对英美政治人物在跨文化语境中的演讲进行分析,就能对其隐喻的使用动机有更深层的阐释和说明。
Abstract：Employing a metaphor is fundamentally a persuasive discourse act.Critical metaphor analysis(CMA)brings together perspectives from critical discourse analysis,pragmatics and cognitive linguistics in an attempt to reveal linguistic, pragmatic and cognitive characteristics of metaphors and provide insight into the beliefs,attitudes and feelings of the discourse community in which they occur.In CMA,corpora are used to identify metaphors which are then interpreted from cognitive and pragmatic perspectives.The identification of the discourse function of metaphors makes it possible to establish their ideological and rhetorical motivation.CMA is a new and effective supplementary means of understanding more about the complex relationship between language,thought and social context.Efforts have been made to use CMA to analyze speeches made by UK/US politicians in intercultural contexts and they have enabled analysts to interpret and explain the motivations of metaphor choice in different contexts at a deeper level.
